JUPITER, the largest planet in our solar system, fittingly, rules luck and expansion. It is known as the great benefic. On July 16, 2014, Jupiter will leave Cancer and enter Leo until August 11, 2015. As the fastest moving outer planet, it changes signs about once a year.

As it enters Leo, it will conjunct the Sun a week later, on July 23. As a result you may begin to feel lighter, more hopeful and happier than in some time. If you’ve lost your creative juice or zest for life, you’ll soon find it coming back.

Jupiter also rules success and abundance, all things foreign, including long distance travel, religion, faith, philosophy, publishing and justice.

Leo is the Fifth House in Western Astrology, which rules romance, children and creativity, so with Jupiter there, you can expect an inspired period with respect to your creative projects, collaborators, partners, lovers and children.

One of the 4 fire signs, Leo puts its best foot forward on all occasions. Leo’s love to look their best and always shine in a crowd. Some say that Leo’s are self-centered. They certainly have healthy egos. But their urge to take center stage will help you if you want to get something started that you haven’t before dared. A slow burning fixed fire sign, they are adventuresome and spicy – and they are gifted with an ability to maintain that fiery energy for extended periods of time. With Jupiter in Leo, you will be more courageous and willing to take chances, all the while, having a good time.

With Jupiter in Leo, we’ve got some fun, creativity, romance and sexy times to look forward to. Get ready to be inspired, and be playful about it! You will also feel more confident in how you present yourself to the world because you will experience an inner level of self-worth and self-love.

It’s time to get that dream project going and with Jupiter to support you, your luck will be with you and your inspiration will blossom. Feeling your own sense of worth will stand you in good stead and allow you to let go of negative notions. So allow yourself to relax – be the beautiful, sensual and smart person you really want to be. And have fun! Don’t be surprised if you find yourself dancing under the moonlight, with some new moves in a foreign port with a sexy stranger – or discussing philosophy at a yoga or astrology retreat over green tea with a new friend.

PART 3
DATES TO WATCH IN 2014 AND 2015
Jupiter will be in Leo from July 16, until August 11, 2015.

During its transit in Leo, for 4 months Jupiter will turn retrograde: from December 9, 2014 until April 9, 2015. This is a time when you may find your projects and goals slowing down. So rather than pushing against the tide; use this time to refine, review and revise. If you begin to doubt, take the time to slow down and look at what might need tweaking, re-setting or revising in your life and projects. Don’t take it as a sign that you should give up, rather look inward and take time to consider what might be hampering you. Are you holding yourself back? Did you take on too much in the first place with expansive Jupiter? Use the time for inner reflection and growth.

Because Jupiter is all about self-confidence and abundance, it is also a great time to look at your personal philosophy and truth. Get in touch with your heart, your integrity and make sure you are acting from an honest place, your unique and authentic self.

Jupiter in Leo is all about role-playing, sometimes necessary in order to attract what you want, whether it be love and approval from others or from yourself. During its retrograde period, you may be looking at the negative side of this more closely: phoniness, superficiality or the use of power for its own sake. If you’ve only been on stage acting, playing a game, seeking power through self-aggrandizing rather than self-empowerment, if you have not been following your true heart’s desire, you may have to back up and re-evaluate in order to re-align with your highest truth. That goes for dreams, projects, friends, lovers and children. It may take a hard honest look in the mirror- yours or someone else’s – to understand what might need to change.

Opportunities always arise when Jupiter is involved. Jupiter is nothing if not fertile. (Be careful if you don’t want children! Zeus was known for his many children born from liaisons.)

During retrograde, seeds, ideas, people or connections from the past may return, presenting opportunities. They are the result of seeds planted in the past – including ideas, people or connections. So you may be pleasantly surprised, or be given an opportunity for closure.

Emphasis may shift from personal ego matters and having fun to exploring spiritual and philosophical matters. During this time you might experience an event that causes you to feel a strong sense of identification or déjà vu with a time in your past when life was “simpler”, or you simply had a more well rounded positive perspective on life.

Because Jupiter rules long distance travel, friendship and certain types of education – i.e., expanding the mind, it may be a good time to complete your education, travel to a location that you’ve had on your list, or reconnect with an old, or lost friendship or lover. Taking a course on philosophy or spirituality may give you a better perspective on life.

PART 4

How to make the most of your Jupiter transit.

Because Leo rules, leadership, confidence, dignity, generosity and grandeur you will experience an increased sense of well-being and optimism – a welcome and inspiring change. You may feel more motivated than in recent times to work in balance and harmony on creative projects and to achieve your highest dreams. In other words, you will feel inspired and almost as if a negative weight or fog has lifted. “Wait a minute! I can do that. Let’s go for it!”

You’ll find that with Jupiter at your back, serendipitous signs will appear, encouraging you forward. Allies and resources will be there just when you need them, as if by a stroke of luck, to inspire and motivate you.

So if you’ve been considering something new, or had something simmering on the back burner, this may be the best time to make your move. Use your desire to improve and have more fun and pleasure in your life. Desire for abundance and prosperity, along with fun getting there will be very strong. You will want to have pleasure, ease and above all – be spontaneous!

You will also feel better about yourself than you have in a long time, since Jupiter rules self-love, self-esteem and confidence. A sense of inner peace may envelop your days more than in recent times, especially if that is what you desire. So don’t struggle against it. Use it to enjoy life. You are, after-all, a child of the Universe and the benevolent Father Jupiter is looking after you now.
